Yeah something really similar happened to me. He was up and down, saying he didn’t want a relationship then saying I was the only one he’d consider being in a relationship with and that he was scared because of that. I’m quite sure he was seeing other people and after things ended, anytime I brought up that he was the one who said he didn’t want a relationship, he’d say it’s not entirely true or “that’s a lie”. I would say that now, I’m in a new relationship where I haven’t had to question it once. I knew from the start and near 6 months later, I’m still confident in where I stand with him. I know it’s cheesy and it’s common to hear but when someone’s serious about you and your future together, you don’t question their intentions or their feelings towards you. It’s just blatantly obvious in the way that they communicate with you. It seems like this person didn’t know what he wanted and I’ve heard a lot of experiences where it’s gets too real for people and they just panic and backtrack.

If I can offer any piece of comfort, it’s only that I got more comfortable driving after I passed my license. The lessons were terrible and stressful, especially when you have someone screaming beside you. I remember my parents used to hold the pockets of the car door or the top hand holder thing. Any chances of you getting a less stressed passenger and driving around an empty parking lot? I agree. Driving’s not for everyone and if you don’t feel comfortable, you shouldn’t do it. The anxiety and stress can make you even worse of a driver IMO cause you have a ton of thoughts in your head and aren’t necessarily focusing on the road then.

Dude wtf why do I literally feel the same??? My manager asked on our call if I’m looking forward to coming back to London and it was the first time I had ever said no. It’s also this trip back that I’ve been like what am I doing this all for? To make the money and spend it on my parents in the future when all they actually want is to spend the time with me now? Especially sad that my grandmas getting visibly old - super hard for her to walk anywhere or get down the stairs and I felt a major sting saying goodbye even though she said she “didn’t want to really say goodbye because she hates them” I almost wondered - what if this was the last goodbye we’d get? Idk but definitely having second thoughts.

I tend to think that other people want expensive gifts but then I appreciate the small things too. My friend got me a replacement for my favourite necklace I got and my other friend got me some herbal tea and candles to relax because I kept having really bad cramps. It doesn’t have to be a big thing! And if you find something you really want to give someone that’s out of budget you could pair up with someone else and get it together?

Lmao I cried at “e.g. men”. Literally on a flight back home right now and don’t know what to expect nor know how to feel. It’s been two years since I’ve gotten to go home because of COVID and it almost feels foreign at this point. Having to ask for permission to leave the house, even just to go to get a snack, is deffoooooo the most annoying thing to me and something I thought only I had to do because of my Asian parents 😂

Literally was like how is this supermodel so much more eloquent than I am like aren’t they meant to be.. dumb? Would also highly recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t, have more respect for her than ever before!

Oh feeels. 10000% I don’t think you should feel bad about that at all cause that’s literally what they’re designed to do. Like they’re DESIGNED that way (boosting new and recently updated profiles) to give you that high of the validation when you first join so that you keep coming back to it. Can’t blame em but I still do.

Ugh 100%. Hated whenever my parents would say that university was easy because I only had 8 hours of lectures per week but it took me at least triple the amount of time to do all the required reading for those lectures PLUS having exams after every “holiday”. Don’t miss it but stay strong my gal!

This post is gold. The homecoming part had me cracking up on the tube. Totaalllyy see where you’re coming from, I’ve heard so many people say that your 20s are when you have the lowest living costs, the least responsibilities and the most freedom and that we should take advantage of that to “be free” and travel the world. I will say that FOMO has stopped me from doing study abroads and such whenever I had the chance because I always thought my friends and the people I leave behind would become infinitely closer and I’d have to play catch up when I’m back, but that wasn’t the case at all. My friends that left and came back didn’t miss a thing, nothing had changed when they came back and no one had moved mad in terms of their jobs or paths in lives so if you’re worried about that, you shouldn’t be!

Preeeeaach. When I in my first year of university, I met friends who were going into funding rounds for their startups and I couldn’t even understand the words they were saying. From my own experience, I can say that you’ll find your way, promise. And honestly you don’t know what being “inexperienced” and therefore open minded could do for you

Feeeells. I not-so-secretly envy anyone who walks around at work and just knows everyone. Most of my colleagues can sit around and have a conversation with anyone while they know my weekend plans without asking me (i.e. hanging out with the same two friends) and I get pat on the back for making a new friend every once in a while.
